Project Superintendent
Springfield, VAThe Project Superintendent is responsible for the planning, coordination and supervision of all activities of his/her project. The Superintendent must be a skilled manager and organizer with the ability to lead and motivate people, plan well and expertly execute, ensure overall personnel and job site safety and effectively communicate and troubleshoot in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include:
• Safely manages project on-site to produce quality workmanship within budget and schedule
• Ensures all company policy, procedures and standards are enforced at the project site
• Builds and maintains good relationships with customers, subcontractors and owners
• Understands and maintains most current contract documents
• Maintains an as-built set of drawings onsite
• Ensures installations are consistent with contract documents
• Knows and understands company’s scope of work for the project
• Plans and supervises the activities of all on-site company employees
• Coordinates and plans the activities of all Century subcontractors
• Collaborates effectively with the Project Manager re: scheduling, cost control and resources
• Responsible for all project safety
• Prepares and submits a daily report of all on-site construction activities for the project
• Effectively manages labor, material and equipment resources
• Hires, trains, manages, motivates, mentors and evaluates staff to ensure optimal effectiveness, quality work and professional development
• Collaborates to ensure effective crew configurations, production rates, adherence to project schedules and labor budgets, QC and equipment and material resource availability/utilization
• Develops and communicates production goals/specifications to constituents to maximize worker effectiveness, adherence to schedule and maintenance of profitability goals
• Leads by example and promotes the company’s high standards and reputation for excellence
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• 10 yrs min. experience in concrete construction; 5 yrs min. in supervisory/management role
• High school diploma or GED certificate (required)
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to perform the physical duties of the work environment
• Proficient in reading and analyzing construction documents, scheduling, cost and QC practices
• Demonstrated team player and excellent problem solver
• Must be an effective communicator
• Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus
