Sheraton Hotel & 36th St Parking Garage

Century completed a 5-story vertical expansion to the existing Sheraton Hotel at the Virginia Beach oceanfront, and also placed foundations and slab infill areas for the pre-cast parking structure at 36th Street as part of this project. Century performed the tie-in work to the existing structure and completed the total project under an aggressive 8-week timeline. The scope involved columns, one core shear wall, 2-way reinforced structural elevated slabs, cast-in-place stairs, and the addition of concrete balconies to the existing structure. In a creative effort to condense schedule and provide cost savings to our customer, Century coordinated with the Owner of the nearby Oceanaire Hotel, which Century constructed simultaneously, to utilize the tower crane at Oceanaire to also construct the Sheraton. The project was completed on schedule and customers on both projects were pleased with Century's successful planning and execution.
