Our Work
Hyatt House Oceanfront
Virginia Beach, VA
Century (with Armada Hoffler Construction) broke ground on the Hyatt House Hotel at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront in August 2015, celebrated topping out in April 2016 and rendered work complete in September 2016. The 200-foot tall building includes 150 oceanfront guestrooms, 1,900 square feet of business and social meeting spaces, an indoor swimming pool and exercise facility.
The project comprised a host of cast in place shear walls, columns, elevator shafts and balconies for a total of 21 levels, more than 60,000 square feet of structural elevated slabs and 6,500 cubic yards of concrete. Century used PERI table shoring and Forming Concepts self-climbing systems to develop this structure. All project operations occurred within two confined areas to the south and east of the building due to the location on Atlantic Avenue and tight property lines.
